This elevated connection links I-10 and US 90 and provides an interstate expansion solution in an urban area with limited right-of-way. The project contains 616,000 square feet of bridge deck with spans up to 180’. Construction from above kept roadways open to traffic at all times. Openness of the structure and slender piers create minimum impact on the established community. The precast concrete segmental design saved the Owner $4.2 million over the alternate cast-in-place design solution. The bridge has stood strong without damage during severe tropical weather along the Gulf Coast.
